Farmers urged to store rainwater

It is very important for farmers of rain-fed areas to store rainwater as it is essential for good growth and production of crops. Punjab Agriculture (Ext A&R) Director General Dr Muhammad Anjum Ali expressed these views while talking to APP on Sunday.
He said that farmers should adopt all necessary measures to store rainwater and try their best not to let it go waste. He said that farmers should follow the weather forecast so that they could make timely arrangements to manage their crops keeping in view weather conditions. He said that two-thirds of annual rainfall in rain-fed areas occurred in the summer. He advised farmers to level land and remove weeds.
